Privacy notice

How we use the details you send us through this website, who else sees them, how long we keep them, and your rights.

Last updated 13 October 2026.

In short

  • We use what you send us to reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit and give you a quote.
  • We do not use it for marketing and we do not sell it.
  • This site sets no cookies, so there is no cookie banner.

Who we are

This website belongs to DFC Construction and Landscaping Ltd, trading as DFC Ltd. We decide how your details are used, so in data protection law we are the controller.

What we collect

When you send the enquiry form on our contact page, we collect:

  • your name, phone number and email address
  • the postcode of the job and the service you are asking about, if you give them
  • what you write about the job

You do not have to use the form: you can ring instead. If you do use it, we need your name, phone number, email address and a few lines about the job so we can reply. The postcode and the service are optional.

Like any website, the servers that send you these pages see your IP address and browser details, and our hosting provider keeps them in its logs to run the site and keep it secure. When you send the form we also use your IP address, briefly and in memory only, to stop floods of spam. It is not stored with your enquiry.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To reply to your enquiry. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): our interest in answering people who contact us about work, and yours in getting an answer.
  • To arrange a visit and give you a quote. These are steps you ask us to take before a contract (Article 6(1)(b)). If you go ahead with the work, our basis becomes the contract itself.
  • To keep spam and abuse off the form. Legitimate interests: our interest in a form that real people can use.

We use your details for nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not use them for marketing, and we make no automated decisions about you.

Who else sees it

These companies handle your details for us, under their data processing terms, and only to do these jobs:

  • Vercel hosts this website and runs the enquiry form. It also counts visits and measures page speed for us, without cookies (see below).
  • Resend sends your enquiry to us by email, and sends you an email to say we have it.
  • Cloudflare runs a spam check on the enquiry form (Turnstile). It sends your IP address and browser details to Cloudflare for that check only.

Our email inbox is a Yahoo Mail account, so Yahoo holds your enquiry, and any email you send us, under its own terms.

We do not share your details with anyone else unless the law requires us to.

Outside the UK

Vercel, Resend and Cloudflare are based in the United States, so your details may be processed there. Each one's data processing terms set out the safeguard that covers a transfer out of the UK. Ask us for details.

How long we keep it

If the enquiry does not lead to work, we delete it once we no longer need it to reply. If you go ahead, we keep what the job needs for as long as the law requires, and delete the rest.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies. That is why there is no cookie banner. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without following you to other websites. Vercel Speed Insights measures how fast pages load, also without cookies.

Your rights

You can ask us, free of charge:

  • for a copy of the details we hold about you
  • to correct anything that is wrong
  • to delete your details
  • to limit how we use them while a question about them is sorted out
  • for your details in a format you can pass to someone else, where the law gives that right

Your right to object. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time to our using your details. We will then stop, unless we have a compelling legal reason to carry on.

Ring 07990 844213 or email dfccl95@yahoo.com. We will reply within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have used your details, tell us first by email or phone using the details above. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it without undue delay, and tell you the outcome.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your details, we will update this page and the date at the top.
